Patch v0.1.1 is live
One day into my first game upload -- that was a cool learning experience in and of itself! Big thanks to those of you who have taken some time to play around in this work-in-progress forest level.
Patch Notes
This version fixes a few collision holes that would let players either clip through (and get stuck inside) cliff sides, or walk off the face of the earth into the Great Void that envelops all video games. If you run into any other collision/clip issues, or you get physically stuck somewhere, I'd really appreciate it if you sent me a comment (and ideally a screengrab) so I can get that patched up for you.
Up Next
Going to take the rest of October to figure out some online publishing-type stuff -- getting the initial build of this game posted went very smoothly, all things considered (huge props to the team at Itch.io for that!), but it definitely made me realize there's a whole other set of skills to learn to get a game out there than just making the game itself.
Looking ahead to November, the plan is to try and set up some features that will make it easier to do profiling/optimization, and make it easier for players in these dev builds to share details about the experience they're having on their hardware, if they so choose. More to come!
